IMEI Registration in Nepal

With effect from 2073, the Nepal Telecommunication Authority has made it mandatory to register the mobile handset identification number IMEI / ESN / MEID (Unique Identifier) to make the use and sale of mobile handsets more systematic and regular. IMEI registration and mobile Device management System

The IMEI number, or International Mobile Equipment Identity, is a 15-digit code that uniquely identifies the device when using a SIM card in a perticular device. Additionally, the GSM Association defines the first 14 digits. In particular, the Luhn formula technique helps in generating the last digit, which carries a control character. This is a unique number that makes every phone on the planet unique. The easiest way to check the IMEI of any phone is to dial *#06#. Because the SIM card number cannot be used as a permanent identifier for the device, the IMEI was created. The SIM Card is linked to the user and can be easily moved from one phone to another. The Mobile Device Management System is a piece of security software that allows the telecommunication regulator to set policies for securing, monitoring, and managing end-user mobile devices. Also, after a mobile device's International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number is registered with it, the government has built a centralized system that keeps track of it.
